we were on our way back from dinner and there was all of this apocalyptic lightning, just constant flashes. it was so hot it was hard to breathe and the thunder was still far off sounding.

two things happened simultaneously; it started to rain and "desperately wanting" came on the radio. so i made the decision to take the long way home, and i put down all the windows and turned the song up as loud as it would go and i drove fast while we both sang or screamed, however you want to label it, as loud as we could while the wind blew all the rain into the car.

we got soaked and we laughed and we sang . and that's the thing about people who aren't happy with their lives. give us a change in weather and the right music, and we create better moments than anyone else could ever imagine.
